New drinks added to the list..

Now we've been in Northampton for a month we've found the time to add a few more drinks to the list. We have a Limey Bastard which is served in a cafetiere, a full on magic paddle served on a real oar - as well as some other very tasty stuff. Come and try them soon!

We're back!

We've been so busy building and opening that we haven't blogged.

Hakamou has opened just as we wished, nice and steady, and seemingly to have attracted the type of person who wants a mix of supreme quality, fun, and good value.

Completion!

We are now officially the owners of a hole in the ground!

From the ashes of Club Teeze will rise the resplendant pheonix that is Hakamou Island bar and Grill.

We recon on 5 weeks until open date - so start getting excited!

Still we wait....

It's so frustrating when you know that everything is ready to go - but needless red tape and bureaucracy are getting in the way.
Having said that, we've been using the time well - to re-visit our plans, and to work on our Face book membership scheme.
Loads of people have applied to be on the guest list of our launch event - and none of them will be disappointed (except those who are on holiday or stuff like that).
We've shown a few trusted souls the new menus (food and drink) and feedback has been awesome!

Today has seen the launch of Hakamou's holding page - it's lush.

we've also launched a trial advert campaign on Facebook. It's serving Northampton - and promises up to 60,000 may see it....Time will tell.

This is how Hakamou will feel. No need for me to whitter on (for a change). Just go ahead and feel.

Getting Warmer.....

This week has seen Sam step aside from his GM post at The Spot to concentrate on final preparations for the fit out.
As for me, I've been contacting all of the suppliers who have been patiently waiting for us to confirm specification and place orders.
Keep an eye out for the new holding pages on the web site - which will have a chance to invite yourself to the launch party, and to read a bit about the story of Hakamou.

We have definately now got the Premises Licence!!!!!

We can also report that all the documents have finally arrived in the post from the solicitor - delayed by all this inclement weather.

So - onwards and upwards.

Chuffin' Snow...

The snow has been great for some additional family time this week, but with no postal delivery since Wednesday we are still waiting for the legal docs.

Sam and I used a weather window to visit a furniture supplier in Birmingham on Wednesday, and have found some top stuff to furnish and dress Hakamou.

Drinks Menu

We've now nailed the drinks menu!!!!

The cocktails, glassware and garnish are of a kind never before seen in Northampton - or anywhere...

This has only served to heighten our excitement, and frustration that things aren't moviong any quicker.

A long road...worth following

I find myself impatient, excited, overwhelmed, and generally itching to get on with proceedings.

To bring you up to date, we have applied for the licence, and as of today have recieved no objections. This means that another 5 days and the licence could be ours!

In the mean time we are waiting for the legal beagles on all sides to get things rolling.

The problem with it dragging on so long is that we are frustrating some of the excellent suppliers that we have found.

None-the-less, the extra time has allowed us to develop our plans and make them even more exciting.

Rick from Look Touch Feel has done a great job of web graphics, Sam is flying with the drinks list, and the menu is delicious.
